The reception area at the west end of the Haa has a number of displays including those of early agricultural tools and household objects which were in use in Shetland in the 19th century. Also displays of early photographs from the area and access to the family history section.
The reception area was updated for 2017 and some of the permanent exhibits were moved around to make way for a new shop display area. The friendly staff are also to be found in the reception area.
